Splendour By NaYa is a registered company in Charlotte, North Carolina and Freetown, Sierra Leone, creating Shea butter essentials with organic products.
Where NaYa begins
A family name, a family ritual.
NaYa is named for the children at the heart of our family: Naddi, Melina, and Meliya. “Na” brings together Naddi and Melina, while “Ya” comes from Meliya.
About six years ago, we began making our first body butter with locally sourced and processed Shea butter made by women in Sierra Leone. It was hand-whipped for our immediate and extended family to enjoy.
Then friends asked for tubs for their own families. Their enthusiasm and word of mouth grew into Splendour By NaYa, inspiring us to make larger batches and share the ritual more widely. The brand was introduced to the market in April 2021.

As our line has grown, so has our reach. Splendour By NaYa has distributors in select states across the U.S. and in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Thoughtful sourcing, close to the source.
We are conscious of air miles and our carbon footprint. Instead of sourcing from traders or the open market, we have formed alliances with local Sierra Leonean and Ghanaian women. Our supplies come directly from these women, who purchase directly from select organic Shea farmers.
We believe in working with local women to source Shea butter free from fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and more. Our apothecary jars and bottles are BPA-free and made from PET plastic.
